Communication is a powerful tool for security guards

Communication is a powerful tool for security guards

Most guards have ever experienced someone is angry, an aggressive person or a person who simply want to act tough against a security guard. In addition, there are no major violent crimes who have some guards with.
As security, communication is one of your most important tools. After all, communication you can think the other commit to a subject, situation but also about his own behavior. How we do this, however, is another story.
Many of these situations escalate in the first three minutes. Why? Because the communication in these first minutes the aggressor does not oblige to think about his own behavior or act.
An example: A man comes rushing, angry at his boss he walks in a straight line down to the front desk where the security guard sits. Many security guards go straight stand, this aggression is lifted immediately to the next level. It is better to have just to sit.
Then you as a security guard services must be very carefully choose your words. Many security guards ask, what can I do for you? The answer is often, what can you do for me ??? Go get the boss! I sat him at all. At present, there is a stalemate. Because if you ask “can I help you?” Then that person is already assuming that you actually like him/her going to do. The security guard must now answer negatively because he can not do this of course in this situation.
If the security guard had asked; How can I help you? And the answer would be the same, the security officer can compel the man to answer thought-through with, sorry sir at this moment I help you not feel, we will first take it easy for a cup of coffee? It does not mean that the man takes the coffee, but he is obliged to think about his behavior.
This example of course is only one, but what I’m trying to make clear is that the choice of your body language and your words in any situation make the difference between a good constructive settlement of a situation which is getting out of hand. A person’s behavior is not so out of the blue.
The reality of someone who is angry, is often completely different from the reality of the security guard. Because you realize this and to ask the right questions can you as a security guards to bring almost any situation for both sides to a successful conclusion.
Of course there are always exceptions, but by your communication to prepare well and ask thoughtful questions will be open to the Exceptions also really exceptions.
